// Battle of the Bamboo

Battle of the Bamboo is a Filipino cultural dance competition hosted annually by Filipinos In Alliance. The show will be held on February 20, 2010. This year's competitors include KAPWA from Loyola University, the Philippine Student Association from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Kapamilya Habang Buhay from Lane Tech High School, the Asian Cultural Exchange from DePaul University, the Filipino Student Association from St. Louis University, Isang Hakbang from Northside College Preparatory High School and Kaibigan from Northwestern. Our judges this year are 2008-2009 Filipinos In Alliance president, Melissa Gaba, daughter of a royal sultan in the Philippines, Princess Emraida Kiram, and director of cultural dance group Samahang Kapatid, Ruben Salazar. Admission will be free, so please spread the word and bring your friends and family to the show
